Philosophy
St. Charles recognizes the broader focus of sports. We believe:
*that our primary purpose is to offer instruction in basic
knowledge.
*that religious education has a prime role.
*that a program of extracurricular activities supplements
the education process.
*that such extracurricular activities further developed
skills being taught in the classroom.
*that athletics must develop sportsmanship, leadership, and
team play.
*that athletics is an activity of enjoyment.
Initial Eligibility
*Students must be
enrolled full time at St. Charles School.
*Athletic programs are offered for students in grades 5, 6, 7, & 8
*All students in grades 5 - 8 may participate in basketball. (11/1-3/31)
*Girls in grades 5-8 may participate in volleyball. (8/15-11/7)
*Boys in grades 5-6 may participate in flag football. (8/15-10/31)
*All students in grades 7-8 may participate in cheerleading.
Academic Eligibility
*All students must start each sporting season in the
attempt to ensure consistency in team formation.
*Students must maintain a 2.0 GPA.
*Grades will be evaluated at report card and progress
report time.

HELP SCHEDULE
As many of you may know, St. Charles relies on parents to work during the
sport/season in which their children participate.
Although efforts have been made to avoid scheduling conflicts within the
St. Charles basketball program, they may sometimes still occur.
If you are unable to work your scheduled shift:
*If
necessary, contact any individual in this listing to trade with them
*Call
Sister Margaret or email Mrs.
Lancour and let her know of any switching that has been done so
changes can be noted on the Website and the master schedule posted in the concession stand.
NOTE:
Most shifts are scheduled under the
student’s name; there may be a
few instances where an adult name/family is indicated.
You may be scheduled to work more than once, so please thoroughly check the schedule and mark your times on your calendar.
SCOREKEEPER WORK TIMES are different than the other work areas; please work the times listed in bold as GAME START TIMES
The last shift of
each scheduled home game is responsible for clean-up of the activity center and
this includes many areas. Out of
consideration of everyone working, no one should leave until all duties are
completed, so all may leave at a reasonable time
