Major Retailers Want To Give St. Charles School Money! What is Scrip? Scrip is simply a word that means “substitute money”. In other words, Scrip is gift certificates/cards from national and local retailers. They look just like the certificates you purchase at stores and are used just like cash.
Why Scrip Now? We have chosen to start Scrip at our school for a couple of reasons. First, one of our existing store programs, We Care from Pick N Save, has been discontinued and now, they are only providing funds through Scrip. We have received a significant amount of money for our school from them each year and now, hopefully people who shop at Pick N Save will continue to support us through this program. Second, Scrip allows us to tap into many more major retailers for funds; making it a more attractive fundraising option for our school families to participate in. How Does it Work? The beauty of these Scrip gift cards is that they allow you to put your regular household shopping dollars to work earning money for St. Charles School without costing you any additional money. To do this, St. Charles purchases the gift cards you request on your order form at a percent discount between 2% up to 20%. We then sell them to you for face value (A $10 certificate costs you $10). The difference is profit to our School which will be used through our Home & School program. For a simple example, Groceries-Pick-N-Save $400 per month 4 % profit to St. Charles $16 per month Gas-Kwip Trip $200 per month 4 % profit to St. Charles $ 8 per month Misc-Walgreens $ 25 per month 6 % profit to St. Charles $1.5 per month Misc-WalMart $ 50 per month 2 % profit to St. Charles $ 1 per month Movies-Marcus Theatres $ 25 per month 9 % profit to St. Charles $2.25 per month Food-Burger King $ 25 per month 4 % profit to St. Charles $1 per month ---------- Total Cost to You $725 per month Profit to St. Charles: $30 per month $360 per year The above example is just a “tip of the
iceberg” in the revenue that could be generated for St.
Charles....remember….just by purchasing items that a family household would on a
week to week basis.
